troublehouse theatre was formed in the Spring of 2014 by Northern born actors Rick Bithell and Heather Carroll. Our goal is to deliver affordable, site-specific projects aimed at sharing thought provoking work to audiences.

We’re both proud Northerners who want to nurture the growing theatrical buzz in the North right now and collaborate with local talented actors, writers, directors and creatives.

Rick and Heather trained together at ALRA North (Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) where they were part of the colleges first post-grad intake. Both have gone on to work extensively in theatre, TV and film across the UK.

After graduating, Rick and Heather moved to Manchester and quickly became involved in its theatre scene, directing in-house productions for regional theatre companies and hosting drama workshops.
