Marth 2017 saw troublehoue‘s first collaboration with a regional theatre as we were invited to take part in The Octagon Theatre’s ‘Reveal Festival’ in Bolton. The festival invited artists from across the North West to challenge themselves and the work they produced to provide audiences with a piece of art which was ‘revealing’. Taking this concept on board, we came up with a site-specific project to debut Alison Carr’s new play ‘Remains’ inside an empty council house on a housing estate in Bolton.

‘Remains’ tells the story of Lottie, a teenage girl who went missing a century ago and of the life that was led by her two sisters in the aftermath. The production started for our audiences as they were greeted in the garden of 2, Midhurst Close, and then led through the derelict house witnessing the drama unfold before finally arriving in Lottie’s bedroom to hear that all wasn’t as it first seemed.

The production was supported by two charities; ‘Missing People and ‘The Children’s Society’ and proved to be a sell-out success with extra dates added due to such high demand.
