Laptops for Lockdown
Laptops for Lockdown
troublehouse has partnered with Altrincham Grammar School for Girls to donate laptops to two students in Years 11 and 12, to help them attend classes online from home during the latest coronavirus lockdown.
The laptops, which had previously been used for lighting and sound purposes during troublehouse’s productions, have been loaned as part of the BBC’s ‘Make A Difference, Give A Laptop Scheme, and facilitated by the Business2Schools initiative.
Rick, one of the co-founders of troublehouse and who is also an NHS volunteer, said:
“When I first heard of the BBC’s campaign to help children study from home, I immediately began rooting around for the devices we had. With theatre unable to go ahead at the moment, they weren’t needed for productions. Now, they will be put to much better use by school pupils who have to learn from home whilst schools are shut.
The Business2School website made it easy to find a local school in need and we wanted to do our bit for the community during this really tough time for young people, and I hope this makes a difference, even if it’s only small.”
More information about the Business2Schools incentive, as well as ways that you can help by donating old devices can be found at business2schools.com or on the BBC website.
